It is commonly thought that much farm-grown timber is of little use and even lower cash value.

Black Dog Timber - an experienced mobile sawmill operator  - can usually prove that the opposite is true!!

Timber in the round is usually bought by dealers and the larger mills by the wagon-load, so this market is not open to smaller growers or people who do not even consider themselves to be ‘growers’ of timber (those who I refer to as ‘timber growers’).

Nevertheless their wind-blown or felled timber is a valuable asset if they can only mill it into something useful for themselves or something that is reasonably easily sold.

Black Dog Timber has been in this field for many years, and can advise on how best to “Get More Out Of Your Wood”.

Despite the rise in popularity of wood as a fuel, sawn timber is still very much more valuable!

Considering the cost of bought-in timber, (and the poor quality of much of it), timber growers can save a lot of cash by using their own wood in new projects, building or renovations etc.

They can also keep a stock of well-sawn timber for sale, which is worth more as it dries.

Timber should always make a contribution to the farm or estate (or garden!) income, and using the Black Dog Timber mobile sawmill service allows you to achieve this.
